Puppies must be in style
All the sexy boys have one.
I want a fluff ball of my own too.
But they are so expensive.
And who knows how long I'll be in Finland.
So I've decided I want a rat.
One big and fat, please.
It will revolutinize the meaning of sexy.

the land of metal
Guys, today is the independence day of Finland! It has been exactly 93 years today, that our glorious little country won the war against the mighty Russia {well, Soviet Union}. And yes, it makes me very proud indeed. Our itsy pitsy country with population only four million at the time, won against one of the greatest powers ever known to men. We're just that cool.
I hope you will all enjoy this beautiful December day as well!

So in the spirit of today, I wanted to share some nifty little facts about Finland
- in Finnish, Finland is called Suomi
- there is more lakes in Finland then the rest of the world has combined! {no joke. thousands and thousands of lake}
- Armi Kuusela was the first person ever to win Miss Universe
- Nokia is our pride and joy {even if I love my iphone...shh!} but did you know that they first started with rain boots and car tires? {I have these ones but in orange}
- Almost every good pair of scissors come from here too {which, you kow, is interesting if you sew} Fiskars does other thigs too, like ax and tree prunners. But who cares
- Finnish is thee hardest language in the world. No joke. Forget about Chinese! We will mush the words together and our monotonic speech will put you to sleep
- We have a woman president, Tarja Halonen {yeah, the one from Conan O'Brien. don't judge}
- Our prime minister Mari Kiviniemi is also a woman
- Like Moomins? ours {the Swedes will try to tell you otherwise. all lies}
- Finlands educational system has been ranked the best in the world for the last fifty years. We're all just a bunch of nerds
- The sun never sets during summer, which is reeeally cool. But thean again, it's pitch black in the winter time. Boo
- the Finlandia Hymn was done by Finnish {duh} composer Jean Sibelius {check it. it is Magnificent}
- Any literature fans out there? Kalevala, Finland's national Epic is the most epical epic ever! The whole thing is writen in poem form and is like this thick. Like THIS THICK. {it has been tricky to translate into any other language, because every single line in it, is constucted from eight syllapyls. Everysingleone}
- We do pretty bad ask music. HIM, The Rasmus, Finntroll, Nightwish, Apocalyptica {my favourite from these. looove the cellos}, Children of Bodom, ect. Of course this might be because we suck at any other kind of music... yeeah. That was embarrassing
- Santa is from Finland! {let's all go see the Rare Exports. it looks fun}
I hope you will all enjoy this beautiful December day as well!

gift yourself
Guys, it's December! I am so excited I want to punch someone. Or pee my pants. Or whatever other weird expression I could use.
Man, I have waited this for so long now. Ever since August I've secretly been singing Christmas carols. And mind you, not the good ones {Hannah Montana} yeah...
Anywho! Here in Finland, we don't have a holiday season. It's pretty much just Christmas and Easter. So we like to go and do a big deal about them. Also, since Santa IS from Finland {we are kind of cool} Christmas is sort of our thing.
This Christmas will be a bit different though.
But I'm still super stoked
Mostly because of this

- I'm living alone for the first time.
- I have no money. So minimal decorations.
- I have to work on both Christmas Eve and Day {boo}
But I'm still super stoked
