i so smart

this is how I managed to get Darling to my mom's in a train. sock basket in a bag. it might seem a little silly to you, but I thought it was pretty clever. especially because I wasn't that sure at all how to do it since I don't have one of those fancy schmancy traveling cages. she was not a happy camper. but I was really proud.

before the train left I also decided to vote. on a whim. I mean, I had the extra 20 minutes
and then I treated myself with a cookie. big cookie

bread cheese is my favorite

hey peeps! (I'm totally cool enough to say that. don't be jealous. it's an asian thing)
this is bred cheese. not cheese or bread, but both. okay not really. it's like crunchy cheese. wet crunchy. it feels funny in your teeth. and it's slightly sweet. but most importantly, it's delicious!
I guess some people eat it with jam, but I think it's best eaten just as it is

so I was thinking. and I came to the conclusion that Finland is somewhat of a cool country (I mean, just look at what we eat!)
so I decided to start this little segment where I will introduce/tell something about Finland. I'll call it Finn Bits (sooo catchy I know. but Fantastic Finland seemed a little long. and all the other ideas sucked)
of course most of the posts would be about food... but come on! who doesn't like food? I mean, everyone knows Italy wouldn't be anything without pasta (yeah Colosseum, I just said that)

so what do ya think! awesome possum? what the deuce? jump off a cliff?

i heard mondays are for recaps

this weekend I went to go see the prettiest of all the pretty ladies. but before that on friday I had a geography test (just a regular one). couple things.
1) don't leave your house with out your glasses/contacts even if you slept in, because you will fall on the ice whether or not you saw it, and 2) if you do then you'll be significantly late due to missing your first buss because you couldn't see it comming

anywho, this is the room I spent the weekend in. isn't it dreamy! I swear my mom has the prettiest house in all the world.

I also gained about thirty pounds by eating lots and lots of delicious pizza and pasta for every meal

and then we went treasure hunting some flee markets

I wanted the accordion soo badly
but the best part? these sa-weet moccasins. for 2€! score.
and pardon my mirror picture again, but it was to show that leather jacket that I got. and don't cha worry!
I remowed them shoulder paddings.

if nothing else, keeping a blog has thaught me I wear hats surprisingly often. weird

I also made her watch pride and prejudice for the first time! I don't even know how she's never seen it. but it was time.

also, you know how you can tell your parents are gettng old? when after the movie they ask how to rewind the DVD?
...
juuust smile...

leftovers

I love ikea! in fact, I just applied there (no, seriously)

so while I was there I just had to grab these cookie cutters. they were just too cute to not to!
and then I made some delicious cookies out of the leftover dough from christmas (hey! it's not groce. it was frozen)

next time I need to frost them too. I know they'll look just adorable with little frost faces and furs

the baked ones

(I'm sorry that every post lately has been about food. but what can I say. a girl gotta eat!)

my nap bud

oh good gully ain't she just so flipping cute!

I have this violet faux fur rug on my couch (because I can totally pull that off) and Darling likes to bury herself in it while I study (or ignore my books and watch tv. just kidding! burn the books and watch tv...)

talking about studying, does anyone have any good brain food suggestions?
I've been 'brain loading' with blueberry soup and avocados for the last couple of weeks, but it's kind of getting old... plus the child in me is not so entertained by the purple mouth anymore.

so tips are very welcome.

and happy first day of spring! oh I can't tell you how happy I am about the increasing amounts of light. makes me all jolly inside (:

the dog days are over

meaning that by tomorrow this time I'll never have to open an english book again in my life
(and that I have been watching glee non stop for the last three hours. purely to refresh my fluency in english, of course)

but mainly because of the whole test thing. because it's a big deal. huge to be exact
I mean it. huuugge

because here in Finland we have what we call ylioppilaskoe. it translates to something like 'over studies exam' ... maybe don't go ask anyone else about that. or they will tell you I'm a fool. (dang it. if I can not translate that how do I think I will pass tomorrows torture????)

so this is it. after taking english since third grade I will now get tested about everything I have ever learned in a big, final, crueling six hours lasting test.

these are my exam food. soda, smoothies and grapes. all label free. yes, our exam board is extremely anal.

yes.
six hours
maaadddd

I'm a wreck already

but then it's over.

:)

well, for english that is.

next week, geography.

sigh

{if you would like to know how exactly the whole thing goes down, check this and scroll down where it says 'Finland'. it's like 99% accurate}
