eetu

this is Eetu
he is one of the puppies living back home at my folks. my favorite to be honest.
I grew up with this little guy and he has been staying with me for the past couple of days.
I love him mucho grande!

the thing is, that he is sick.
very very sick

first thing monday morning we are taking him to the vet who will perform surgery on his mouth
because he has an infection and now most of his teeth have become rotten and have to be taken out.
I know that doesn't sound too serious, but he is an old little bugger, and already has a heart condition.
so we don't know if his heart can even take the tress of an anesthesia or surgery
there is also a risk that the infection has spread to his jaw bones which case we would have to put him down
so for now he is staying with me so he can have some peace and quiet from the other dogs

now I know this can seem silly and childish to you, but I would like to ask if you could keep him in your prayers?
because I believe with my whole heart that there is a place for animals in heaven.
I believe that they too are our Lords children.
I believe that they are just as dear to Him as we are.
so I believe that He will also listen to us when we pray for them

and even if you do not believe in God or don't share my idea of heaven but know how special these little creatures can be,
please send some good thoughts.
for he really is the sweetest little dog and means so much to me.

stinky-eye is back

with a friend!

and I am so sorry if you guys are already getting sick of these videos. but this was the first time ever that I've seen anyone sing too. and that calls for some major cojones! even if I didn't understand a word of it (plus this is the same guy playing, then in the first video, so it was pretty much a Christmas miracle)

but lookie lookie what I spyed!

a wooden trolley! how cool is that! I tryed getting the whole thing in one frame, but the darn thing was too fast for me. le sigh!

and merry Earth Day to you all!
now go hug some trees

nerd up

last weekend I found two pairs of beautiful, perfect, magnificent old 80's granny glasses at the local salvation army. for one euro each. but the very best part is that the other one has the exact same prescription that I do. which is a nothing sort of a miracle since I truly and honestly have the worst eye sight ever in the history of the human kind. even on an asian scale.

so I am now officially abandoning these

and going for these babies!

thus claiming nerdy hipster glasses back to the blind. woo!

little model

yesterday for the first time this year it was warm enough to just go and hang out in my balcony.
and it was also the very first time for Darling to be outside. she loved it!
she also loves the camera. in a big, weird, creepy way.

i so smart

this is how I managed to get Darling to my mom's in a train. sock basket in a bag. it might seem a little silly to you, but I thought it was pretty clever. especially because I wasn't that sure at all how to do it since I don't have one of those fancy schmancy traveling cages. she was not a happy camper. but I was really proud.

before the train left I also decided to vote. on a whim. I mean, I had the extra 20 minutes
and then I treated myself with a cookie. big cookie

bread cheese is my favorite

hey peeps! (I'm totally cool enough to say that. don't be jealous. it's an asian thing)
this is bred cheese. not cheese or bread, but both. okay not really. it's like crunchy cheese. wet crunchy. it feels funny in your teeth. and it's slightly sweet. but most importantly, it's delicious!
I guess some people eat it with jam, but I think it's best eaten just as it is

so I was thinking. and I came to the conclusion that Finland is somewhat of a cool country (I mean, just look at what we eat!)
so I decided to start this little segment where I will introduce/tell something about Finland. I'll call it Finn Bits (sooo catchy I know. but Fantastic Finland seemed a little long. and all the other ideas sucked)
of course most of the posts would be about food... but come on! who doesn't like food? I mean, everyone knows Italy wouldn't be anything without pasta (yeah Colosseum, I just said that)

so what do ya think! awesome possum? what the deuce? jump off a cliff?

i heard mondays are for recaps

this weekend I went to go see the prettiest of all the pretty ladies. but before that on friday I had a geography test (just a regular one). couple things.
1) don't leave your house with out your glasses/contacts even if you slept in, because you will fall on the ice whether or not you saw it, and 2) if you do then you'll be significantly late due to missing your first buss because you couldn't see it comming

anywho, this is the room I spent the weekend in. isn't it dreamy! I swear my mom has the prettiest house in all the world.

I also gained about thirty pounds by eating lots and lots of delicious pizza and pasta for every meal

and then we went treasure hunting some flee markets

I wanted the accordion soo badly
but the best part? these sa-weet moccasins. for 2€! score.
and pardon my mirror picture again, but it was to show that leather jacket that I got. and don't cha worry!
I remowed them shoulder paddings.

if nothing else, keeping a blog has thaught me I wear hats surprisingly often. weird

I also made her watch pride and prejudice for the first time! I don't even know how she's never seen it. but it was time.

also, you know how you can tell your parents are gettng old? when after the movie they ask how to rewind the DVD?
...
juuust smile...

around the globe

I was cleaning my old room back at my folks and found this big stack of postcards. and I was so happy I did!
because way back when I was in junior high I joined postcrossing, this really neat program where you send postcards to complete strangers and then random people send cards to you. from all over the world!

what's especially neat about it, is to see what sort of cards people decide to send.

maybe a view
something that your home is recognized of
a historical moment (isn't it though??)
an animal associeted with your home
or maybe a nice vintage one

I loved reading them again and really can't tell why I stopped doing it. so I decided to join again!
I'm kind of bummed though that I couldn't find the rest of them. I had a huge ton of them. but I am also very excited to start this all over again.

and hey, anyone can join! so maybe if you do, someday our cards could get crossed (:

not a photo pro

twenty years ago I mentioned that I was getting an instax mini for myself for christmas. but then the seller turned out to be a crook (boo!) and I never got it.

but then some while ago I found a deal on this baby

and then right after I found another one on this

sadly I haven't had the chance to try out the instax 200 yet (because the price of that film makes me go what the fudge??? ...I'm poor)
but I have had some experiments with the instax mini one

like I said Darling really likes that rug (:

these are from my friends birthday party a couple weeks ago. the theme was superheros. unfortunately there isn't any pictures of me (that I would care to share...) but I went as Storm from the X-Men.
yes, I'm a geek at heart.
playing the wii dance game. note the cool catwoman and lady gaga costumes

obviously I still got a lot to learn about taking pictures with these instax cameras. the fact that the eye hole doesn't really do anything still throws me off a lot. so I really strugle with the aiming. but other then that I love it! there's just something magical about instant film

{if you have any tips or suggestions how to work with the instax cameras I would love to hear them!}

leftovers

I love ikea! in fact, I just applied there (no, seriously)

so while I was there I just had to grab these cookie cutters. they were just too cute to not to!
and then I made some delicious cookies out of the leftover dough from christmas (hey! it's not groce. it was frozen)

next time I need to frost them too. I know they'll look just adorable with little frost faces and furs

the baked ones

(I'm sorry that every post lately has been about food. but what can I say. a girl gotta eat!)
